just a few things.

here are a few things that i've gathered from the instagram
in the past few days.

two things i want.
and one that is just plain pretty.

first up, these camo sneaks from target.
in the little boys section.
yes, i'm being serious.
and only $17.
going to get them at lunch.
(you can get them online for $19 here)

i think they'd make really rad photography-taking workin shoes.
with either some rolled skinnies or cut-offs.

(via @targetdoesitagain)

then these:

currently from calypso st. barth.
i'm on a mission to make that long light purple one. so cute.

and then i'll take either of those 2 beaded pendents on the right.
they aren't online but some other good ones are, here.

(via @taylorsterling)

now, this:

i really couldn't sleep last night.
like up from 1-5am couldn't sleep.
ugh.

so i was creeping the internet and instagram.
i found @southsocialandhome.
she's working with emily henderson on that reception place they're re-doing.
i'm excited to see it unfold, bc i already love anything emily henderson touches but now i love this cute blonde, too! and i think they may like vintage as much as the other...
her name is dean and she blogs here. and her website here.

what i'm really trying to say, is that her amazing southern wedding was just featured on martha stewart and it's a good one you guys!!
gold sequin mini dresses for the maids, and hers is vintage!
no details were spared.
so pretty!!

you can read the martha bit here.
and see more their photos here.

i'm going to go take a nap on the conference room table now.
not really but i wish i could.

happy wednesday.

marchesa

have you seen the neiman marcus/target collection?
i went into target friday night (big exciting friday night plans, huh? :)
...for dog food.

and left with a whole bunch more than dog food.

they have some great stuff right now, and not just with the nm collection.

i stopped dead in my tracks when i saw the marchesa dress for little girls.

wouldn't it make a killer winter wedding flower girl dress?
and for $99, it's probably the same price as the way less cute, run of the mill one you'd get at david's bridal or somewhere equivalent. but its marchesa.

if you are getting married in the next 3 months,
and you have a flower girl or 3 without anything to wear...
jump on this:

with some white tights..... and maybe a fluffy white cardi. i die.

i kinda also want the gold cocktail shaker.

and if i also had a little girl who took her lunch to school...
she'd be taking it in this from tory burch.

happy monday.

and your flowers from last friday are on their way.
slacker.

lovely. so lovely.

sharkpig strikes again.

i so wish wedding videos like these were popular 3 1/2 years ago when i got married.
maybe they were and i was just oblivious, but i would watch mine over and over.
and over.

they show the complete joy from the whole day in under 3 minutes.
and dare i say, it shines a little more than even photography can portray?

maybe that's what i'm going to start doing next!!

until then, just enjoy this one.
you can see more from this lovely wedding here.

boho

from one nature lover to all of you...

this american indian inspired, feather and desert colored wild flower bouquet
is kinda perfect for me right now.

and so are rocks.
did you know i love rocks?
i do. most kinds. especially of the crystal, gorgeous variety.

inspiring my monday:

bouquet via 100 layer cake.

crystals found on more design please, but i don't know where it comes from originally.
i wish i did. i'd love to have it as a print.

reminds me of carly waito's paintings.
anyway, my bedroom would be alot better were this hanging on its walls.

happy monday.

just when.

just when i thought it was safe to post all the mirror-metallic shoes that i've found around the web, the world shows me these.

this always happens!

but have you ever seen anything so beautiful?
i would get re-married for the opportunity to make these my wedding shoes.
to husband again, of course.

mid-october wedding....

and a short little ensemble to show off my shoes.
maybe like this:

in a room that looks like this:

and tables for our brunch reception set like this:

serving these things side by side:
{dessert is the best part of a meal, even if it is mid-afternoon!}

gold spun cotton candy?! absolutely.

color scheme of blush pink, gold, and shades of gray.

mmm. glammy.

feel.

do you ever have those songs that make you aware you're alive?

they fill you up with so much feeling- just by the tune, or the lyrics, or both.
sometimes a song can make tears come.
not because it's sad, not because i'm sad...

they just come.

a song can make a feeling in my stomach that i can't describe.
that only comes when i'm supremely happy.

there are lots of songs that do that to me.
each. and. every. single. time.

"blood" by the middle east did it for me the first time i heard it at the end of crazy stupid love... (a movie in it's own right that brought tears to my eyes. i love that movie. see it!)

i rewound the end, and listened to it over and over and over.

then the other day i was over at the blog of our labor of love...
(who usually capture images that can too, move me to tears. they are my idol.)

and i watched this video done by shark pig.

watch:

and not only was it playing my song,
this wedding was filled with so much love and character and feeling.

i had tears in my eyes.

tears for them. and how happy they are.
tears for me and how happy i am (super mushy, i know).

just feelings.

anyway.

sorry to get so sappy on you lovely people.

i hope you have a really good day.

wedding weekend.

did your wedding fly by? go way to fast? wish it could have lasted longer?
mine, too.

this particular couple wanted all that to linger as long as they could...

so they rented out the entire ace hotel in palm springs.
for 4 days.
for all their friends and family.

on thursday night, they had a swanky bourbon and bow ties party to kick off the weekend and welcome everyone in.

friday morning they had a special and intimate ceremony in the dessert with just their closest friends and family...

and came back to this:

a giant pool party.

and the addition of those hundreds of black and white beach balls = perfect.
anything en masse makes it a while lot more special. 3 beach balls just wouldn't have cut it.

the next day, they just wanted to host a giant dinner and dance party.

successful.
again, the mass of balloons... awesome.

and then finally:

the wedding.

with more dinner.
more drinks.
and lots more dancing.

there was even a local marching band thrown in for good measure.

seriously, do you wish you were invited as much as i do?
what a great party.
what a great long weekend!
how special for them, their friends, and their family.

i only shared a fraction of the details and pretty shots
{taken by my idol, max wanger}

you can find more over at 100 layer cake.
they had 3 separate posts to cover the whole thing.
the first.
the second.
the third.

go check it out.

love.

spring wedding.

{it's a tie between these two.}

got the cake. the dress (or 2). the setting. blankets for the chilly nights.
the favors. the flowers. can't forget the flowers!!
and of course, the bar. the prettiest bar i've ever seen, actually.

if i were re-getting married tomorrow, this might be what it'd look like.
using all the colors spring has to offer.

tgif.
seriously, TGif.

southern weddin, y'all.

i have been getting the martha stewart wedding idea of the day since 2007. just before i got engaged, through my wedding planning, past my wedding in 2009, and straight on through till today. i enjoy it. it comes 7 days a week. sometimes its content is a little meh, sometimes its brilliant.

loved it.
thought i'd share it with you all.

it was on the bride's family's 1000 acre plantation.

they used an aviary theme throughout the whole thing. with quail feathers in the programs,

and boutonnieres,

and a beautiful book of birds for the guest book.
i love the whole wedding but this was my favorite part. wish i would have thought of it. now they have a gorgeous tome to keep in their library or out on a coffee table with the signatures of the ones they love and the reminder of their day. love. it.

want the book, too.

they used the same quail feather deatils from above and images from the audubon book to line their envelopes for the wedding stationary. again, LOVE.

her dress was designed for her by a fellow charleston native, carol hannah.

remember carol hannah from project runway?
she makes a gorgeous dress.

another thing that really caught my attention:

the family sheep.

they were originally purchased for consumption but after the family raised them, they kept them as pets :)

a part of me loves my city living but another part of me wants a 1000 acre southern plantation to be able to have more ducks, chickens and lots of sheep running around. not for food. just for pets.

our birds are back in kansas city from their winter escape. i can hear them chirping in the mornings. spring is right around the corner! yay.

love.

have a great afternoon :)

happy new... life!!

remember my post last year for the fun nye wedding?
with confetti and dots galore.

i recently stumbled upon this dress below, from doug hannant.
and i have to say i was a little jealous i wasn't getting married this weekend.
so perfect for a new year's eve wedding celebration.

a whole lot beautiful. a lot sparkly. a little different. a little sexy.

these would be my maids.
a rockin crew of gorgeous women and gowns
in a pallette especially festive.

and my cake.
beautiful and metallic.

and you can't forget the sparkles and champagne for the guests!!

dream nye wedding.

last day to sign up for our giveaway!!

m + d. part IV.

last post.

if you haven't seen by now, this group of people were a joy to photograph because they were Fun! with a capital F.
boring doesn't stand a chance around these people.

this is maggie with her sisters.
basically a whole family of pretty.

and these next 2 deserve an explanation:

groom loves (LOVES) jordans. he has lots and lots and lots of them.
groom switches into a pair after the ceremony.

well, bride knows groom's love for jordans and she too
slips into a pair of the most lady-like white bridal jordans
on the market, just before the reception
without groom's knowledge.

time for the garter toss.
groom sees bride's shoes and has a moment.

its probably the sexiest thing bride could put on, in groom's eyes.

and i think it's awesome.

i really really really want to thank my sidekick extraordinaire, sean mcnally.
he killed it.

the end.
