crazy pretty.

it legitimately hasn't rained here for more than a few seconds in 2 months.
until last night, right in the middle of one of my senior photog sessions.
perfect timing, right?

but it didn't just rain, it unloaded.
with a little hail, and a whole lotta lightning.
so we had to cut it in half to resume at a later date...

but on my way home,

this was the sight to the left of my car:

and this was the sight to the right:

the most crazy beautiful, bubble looking clouds mixing with the sunset,
and a FULL double rainbow.

i saw the start, the middle and the end of this rainbow and it was so vivid and bright!

anyway.
i'm just sharing because i feel like i'm still 6 on the inside sometimes, and that rainbow made me smile like a nutty 6 yr. old girl who also happens to like glittery sprinkles and unicorns.

sunset

last weekend i was in south, very south, 6 miles from oklahoma south, central kansas.
i was visiting the new twins.

i took their newborn photos.
i was hoping to have a sneak peek to share but i have been busy doing other non-fun stuff.
i will probably share one or two sometime next week.

but as husband was driving, this is what i got to look at.

one of the more beautiful kansas sunsets.
wish i had out my real camera, this one was just with my phone.

i have a thing for clouds and landscapes.

i'll be back in a bit with a room that this photo inspired.

see ya then.

kansas city love.

i love our small big city.
big but still small enough where you get that feeling.

we recently (a few weeks ago... i've been meaning to post but i just kept forgetting!) got a kate spade ny store on the plaza.

it's nothing short of her spunky-colorful-characteristics they've been known for in the past few years.

these are a few photos from the grand opening.
they were shot by lemonlime photography, who actually shot joanna's wedding elle and i were in.
small big city.

i haven't had the chance to make it in there yet.
did you know kate spade was born and raised here?
she also shares a sister-in-the-bond bond with elle and i. yep. i still say that 6 years after i graduated. {can you say lame? i can and i'm ok with it :)}
small big city.

happy friday.

aha!

i had this photo in my files for a long time.

i loved the lavender walls mixed with the other colors, i.e. the rug. but what i really wanted to help my brain remember was the grosgrain ribbon tacked onto the bottom of the sofas with nail heads.

i also had this one saved because i once again, loved the colors.

then....
i was on the country living website last night wasting time when i found this house.
and aha!
the 2 images above are from the same house.
love when that happens.

kept reading...
and found out this pretty casa is only a couple miles from my house!
love that, too :)

quite cozy.

xo.

andres confiserie suisse

speaking of kate spade...i just had a few minutes to begin looking through the latest elle decor (didn't make it as far as i had hoped...so many interruptions) and i noticed another kansas city shout out! i have to share.

in the front of the magazine there is a small section where elle decor asked five style-minded revelers to share their go-to festive treats for holiday entertaining. among the revelers was kate spade sharing her love for the melt-in-your-mouth milk-chocolate truffles from andre's confiserie suisse in kansas city. she said "i grew up going there, and the candy counter was very special to me. i send them as gifts, and people rave about them.”

i agree they are delicious, but i tend to lean toward the chocolate covered almonds...(hint, hint)

you can read more about the great story of how andres began, and order your favorite chocolate delights here. your friends, family, and co-workers will thank you!!!

check out the amazing poolhouse project by fairway neighbor, tim super, featured! the lighting and perspective in this photo below are just beautiful.

and the pool looks quite refreshing.

i guess the only way to beat the heat is to spend the afternoon by the pool followed by an evening in the poolhouse.

peach sangria and a spread of fancy hors d'oeuvres. sounds pretty perfect, although things could get quite steamy.
