fall nails.

those over at beautylish have decided these are what's hot for nails this fall.

and i can get behind almost every single one of them.

i have an oxblood from last past 2 years when i was (still am) obsessed with wine and magenta, and lucky for me, it's still cool.

and just the other day, when i was buying my new DOMINO!!!!!!, i also bought a dark hunter green polish on a whim. which i thought would be pretty for christmas.
lucky for me, they say that's also cool.
(cheap brand you can buy at walgreens... sorry i don't remember the name or the maker.)

and remember that holographic chanel polish from last week... still cool.

and glitter.
also pretty for the upcoming holidays, no?

what colors are you picking this season?

part deux.

my photo from earlier... as promised i'm back to share how it can be used as inspiration.
and apparently i was really inspired!
i just loved the colors.

dark olive green, white and cream, lavender, hint hints of pink and orange, and gold.

what's not to love?

so here's a bedroom to start with.

i am so in love with this army surplus green blanket. i'm getting one for my bed. stat.
from lots of places but i found one here. on an all white bed? scrumptious.

just add a few more accessories and a wall color change,
and we'd be good to go.

new wall paint: SW quiver tan.
this is the color of my bedroom now and i kinda love it.
it's brown, sometimes gray, sometimes a little army green.
awesome with white woodwork and wood floors.

rug from here.
ikat pillow from here.
pink velvet pillow here.
lamp here. but i changed it's color to lavender in ps... spray it!
lamp shade here.

AND
i couldn't stop...
so here's my favorite outfit for spring.
long dress. the perfect cover for my white legs (and/or my un-shaven legs).
sandals.
big shades.
and my dream hunter green prada bag.

i love color.
did you know that?
do i try and throw it in your faces at least 3 times a week......maybe.
but i hope its gentle :)

happy wednesday, loves.

from a goodie...

to a greatie...(?)
(i know i made that word up.)

emily henderson is one of my favorite people to watch on hgtv.
she isn't doing the same old stuff in the same old style like alot of the shows on there. she loves color, which obviously makes me a fan straight out of the gate, and brass, winner! and vintage furniture, winner!

her blog is also another one i stalk. you should check it out.

but she's recently moved into a rental home out in LA,
and converted her already kinda cute dining room:

vintage furniture, brass, navy, kelly green, and crisp white.
awe.some.

but again, it wasn't that bad to begin with.
the forest green walls with all the bright colors in that table runner were beautiful together. where can i get that table runner? its fantastic. i'm sure its vintage and one of a kind.

but it got me thinking... am i crazy to want to switch my front room in the opposite:
from its current dark dark navy to a forest green?
with a few bright accents thrown in for good measure, just like whats found in the table runner.
or is forest green a phase i'm in right now?

i have design a.d.d. when it comes to my own house.
its a disease.

but happy friday!

forest green.

i have been known to say that i hate something "like i hate bowling and hunter green."

ask husband. its how you know i'm passionately in dislike of something... like mushrooms. i DO NOT like them. i try and try to do it but i just can't. so i might have said before... "i hate mushrooms like i hate bowling and hunter green." in fact, those words have come out of my mouth, multiple times.

i really do hate bowling.
and up until recently i hated the color hunter green.

from now on we'll call it forest green so i don't have to eat my words all those millions of times i've said that i hate hunter green. because it really isn't that bad of a color.

its a neutral. it can go with pretty much whatever it wants to go with. lots of bright colors look fantastic with it.

i'm starting to think that way of most greens. have you ever looked outside at anything naturally green, like the grass or leaves or stems of a flower, and said it didn't "go" with another color? what flower on earth doesn't "go" with it's green stem? not a single one.

in fact, i think the forest green of the earth looks it's most delightful next to the blue of the sky:

you can thank God for that one.

and these:

so dang pretty right??

my new appreciation started a few months ago but was reaffirmed when the house beautiful "green" issue came out a few months ago. i.e. this whole house:
forest and lavender and gold? yep.

and sydney from the daybook with her hunter wellies.
girl wears them with any and everything and it looks fantastic.

go embrace forest green.
i am now.
