so, i'd like to throw some things i've found recently, out there.

just in case you think they are neat.

i would give lots of stuff for this to wind up being in my backyard.

i love it in lots of ways. for lots of reasons.

and because i'm nothing if not predictable, i have a photo i snapped this weekend of the bouquets strewn around my house. this one is on the front table, as soon as you walk in the door...

so sorry it's messy. i didn't clean up before i took it.

it's where the mail goes to multiply and then die.

i hate mail. i hate mail. i hate mail.

most of it is junk and it gets thrown straight into recycling.

i wish there were a spam filter for real mail.

can we just switch everything to email from now on?

except for fine paper goods, like love letters, christmas cards, baby announcements with squishy babies on them, and wedding/party invites.

OH!! and MAGAZINES. duh.

and anthro catalogues.

back to the flowers. my whole house smells divine. no jokes here.

and i have some on my desk right now, too.

everyone comments on their perfume.

heavenly.

but all these peonies live in my backyard. and i have to cut them and bring them inside, and donate to grandmas and neighbors, so that i can enjoy them, and others can enjoy them, because they are so fleeting.

and i'm officially finished with my ode to peonies 2013.

and then there's this:

you guys.

its the new maybelline colorsensational lipstick, in their new 'vivids' color line.

i have been searching the world (not really) for a fierce, bright, super saturated, not fully red, not fully orange lipstick since last summer. i've tried a few but i'm such a loyal to my fuchsia fever pink, that i kinda gave up.

until last night.

i was at walgreens and i bought this.

'vibrant mandarin'

i wore it to dinner.

i am wearing it to work right now.

i am a new lady (not really).

i love it.

i might buy another tube in case they discontinue it in the next 5 years.

seriously though, i'm really happy with this brand/line of lipsticks. they last a good long time. both fuchsia fever and this vibrant mandarin. they last all day. i'm a cheap drugstore lipstick convert (if we're talking this kind).

i can't get this lamp outta my head: 

it's rita konig's.

i like her, you've seen me say this before.

i even remember when she bought this in an old domino magazine.

at a thrift/antique/junk store in some cool city.

anyway.

yellow...

who ever said it was mellow?

because a single solitary yellow lamp holds a whole lotta power and oomph in a room with no other yellow in it.

i guess maybe just a smidge,

but it works it's magic best with none.

it's sitting on its console or end table singing it's lovely yellow tune in the room.

like a canary? or maybe that was just a dumb.

but it's a jolt of vibrancy.

a welcomed ray of sunshine.

yellow.

it does a body room good.

i just acquired/bought 3 news lamps for my house...

so i'm not in any lighting need, but for only $69, i'm so tempted to snag one.

rock candy.

these lamps are like eye candy. eye candy that resembles rock candy.

a pair of these could add a serious bit of awesomeness to any room in my house.

they're made by swank lighting.

these in 'teal ice' are me favesies.

but i'd take these in 'ice'.....

and 'emerald' is gooood.

they're made from tumbled recycled glass... i love it when environmentally conscious beauty meets regular old awesome.

this pair is made from tangerine calcite. not recycled, just pulled out of the ground.

 

if you were to say, donate a pair of these lamps to me... i wouldn't turn them away.

shoot, if you showed up with some of this real

rock candy, i wouldn't turn it away either.

1-  miu miu sparkle tennies. also blogged about here. i heart them very, very much.

2-  a bright clutch. this cobalt blue one by clare vivier especially.

3-  remote control for my camera... would get lots-o-use.

4-  record player.

5-  those lamps. period.

6-  a vintage malachite and gold rolex found on overstock. for only $14k... and now i can't find it any longer. darn it... looks like someone grabbed it before i could ;)

so i'll settle for #7.

7-  dior mens watch. gold on gold on gold.

8-  crystal skull vodka for my bar.

9-  mounted african butterfly beauty.

10-  vintage fur coat.

11-  still looking for a christmas miracle... a brass tea kettle.

(this one is a french antique found here. and oh my goodness, it is so charming. exactly like the one i've dreamt up in my head. just not worth the $500 price tag.)

yesterday, as i lay on my couch recovering from one of the more fun weddings/weekends i've helped celebrate....ever....

{congrats meg!!!! (and p.s. i so very much love my friends. there was no shortage of fun)}

i watched the most recent episode of 'secrets of a stylist' i had dvr'ed.

emily used a yellow crystal lamp in her design! it was just as sassy but not exactly the same. her blog said it was vintage.

it was actually a really great room as a whole.

but this whole blog post was only so that i could profess that it only deepened my love for such lamps.

anyone for seconds?!

today we had a little work field trip to the seconds sale at christopher spitzmiller. it was an exciting day for me...we even got the grand tour of the space! i will share more fun pics later! if you have a chance to go by i highly recommend it, but hurry. they had quite the morning today selling more than they did in the entire sale last year in the first morning!
