what do you think about these?

have you seen the mass of sweaters out there with animals on the front?
i have to admit, i was not very warm to the idea...
until i kept seeing them pop up here and there, online and in the stores, and then on elle's post with the llamas.

and it sorta grew on me.

saw this one on pinterest yesterday and that was it.
love.

i particularly love the patterned graphic blouse underneath.
takes it from 2nd grade to adult worthy.

took this combo as inspiration.
searched a little.
then played on polyvore a little.
et voila!

came up with these:

peacock sweater

Markus Lupfer slim fit sweater, €349
Zara shirts blouse, $60
7 For All Mankind cut out jeans, €239
Proenza Schouler genuine leather handbag, $895

wolf sweater

Long sleeve crew neck shirt, £9
Hollister Co chain shirt, $50
J Brand slim fit jeans, £190
Forever21 lace up shoes, $28
Alexander McQueen silk chiffon scarve, $295

penguin sweater

Etro black blouse, $505
Dorothy perkin, $59
J Brand bright colored pants, £206
Madewell flat patent leather shoes, $88

cute, huh?

there are lots more to choose from
for any budget.

animal sweaters

Cooperative embellished top, $69
PJ by Peter Jensen crew neck shirt, $88
Knit top, $62
Forever21 lightweight sweater, $23

very very trendy.
one of those pieces i can't allow myself to pay any large amount of money for because i may be wondering what in the world was i thinking-- in just a few weeks.

elle.

dear santa,

1-  miu miu sparkle tennies. also blogged about here. i heart them very, very much.

2-  a bright clutch. this cobalt blue one by clare vivier especially.

3-  remote control for my camera... would get lots-o-use.

4-  record player.

5-  those lamps. period.
found here.

6-  a vintage malachite and gold rolex found on overstock. for only $14k... and now i can't find it any longer. darn it... looks like someone grabbed it before i could ;)
so i'll settle for #7.

7-  dior mens watch. gold on gold on gold.

8-  crystal skull vodka for my bar.

9-  mounted african butterfly beauty.

10-  vintage fur coat.

11-  still looking for a christmas miracle... a brass tea kettle.
(this one is a french antique found here. and oh my goodness, it is so charming. exactly like the one i've dreamt up in my head. just not worth the $500 price tag.)

friends, what are you wishing for?

plaid and pinecones perfection.

do you remember this from vogue last year?

so ski lodge gorgeous and cozy, thought i'd share just in case you missed it.

they aren't calling for as much snow this year here in kc, and i have to say... the past 2 years of too much snow is now starting to look appealing.

joyeux noel

it's a dream of mine to spend christmas in paris.
can you imagine?

especially in the future when we have the little nuggets.
that's the stuff dreams are made of.

remain neutral.

seriously, there is a serious misconception that black and brown don't go together.
if black/gray is a neutral and can go with anything,
and brown is a neutral and can go with anything...
why oh why can't they go together?

they can. and they do.
really well.

winter is kinda synonymous with duller, more neutral colors.
embrace them!
wearing a mix of gray, black and brown is far more interesting and textural than all black or all brown.
i've been sporting my black leggings with my brown boots lately like it's my job.
(partly because i like the look, partly because leggings are a gift from God)

but you know me, i crave color. so there have also been lots of hot pink lips :)

if you don't believe me. maybe you'll believe these:

pretty, huh?

xo.
