michael dweck

,  spent my rainy sunday out in the hamptons poking around in new stores and antique shops as i slowly made my way back to the city. i happened on an adorable shop in sag harbor called bloom. it has lovely glassware from henry dean, gorgeous earthy linen table cloths, and amazing dishware. among all of these items was the photography by michael dweck. not familiar with his work mona, the store owner and i began to chat. she showed me his book, the end, and explained how his work has appreciated quite a bit over the past 5 years.
in dweck’s first body of work, he drew inspiration from his teenage years spent by the beach on Long Island and captured the vanishing surf culture of montauk. he since has other bodies of work including mermaids and habana libre.

here are a few of my favorites..

if you are in san fran in september or october check out his exhibition of habana libre.

xoxo
elle.
