dear santa,

1-  miu miu sparkle tennies. also blogged about here. i heart them very, very much.

2-  a bright clutch. this cobalt blue one by clare vivier especially.

3-  remote control for my camera... would get lots-o-use.

4-  record player.

5-  those lamps. period.
found here.

6-  a vintage malachite and gold rolex found on overstock. for only $14k... and now i can't find it any longer. darn it... looks like someone grabbed it before i could ;)
so i'll settle for #7.

7-  dior mens watch. gold on gold on gold.

8-  crystal skull vodka for my bar.

9-  mounted african butterfly beauty.

10-  vintage fur coat.

11-  still looking for a christmas miracle... a brass tea kettle.
(this one is a french antique found here. and oh my goodness, it is so charming. exactly like the one i've dreamt up in my head. just not worth the $500 price tag.)

friends, what are you wishing for?

loves.

butterflies

martha sent this to my inbox this morning, we're on a first name basis obvi.
but, she's given this template for us to use as halloween decor...

i happen to know a girl (thumbs pointing to myself) that would not have argued to use such big and bold butterflies for a birthday party back in the day... or next month when i get another year closer to 30.

butterflies

while shopping in an antique store awhile back, i came across a butterfly framed between 2 pieces of glass for only $2! i snapped it up and it was mine.

science is my favorite subject, always has been. i minored in biology in college even. i love all of earth's natural curiosities, and science and nature go hand in hand.

i most definitely love my little $2 butterfly, especially since in my mind, i pretend it died of natural causes before someone slapped her between two pieces of glass :)

i like all sorts of stuff from nature... crystals, geodes, skulls and bones (weird i know, i would have found home in the victorian era) but i think God must have known what he was doing when he made butterflies.

around here, butterfly migration season is coming to a close. you can still see a few monarch and yellow butterflies flitting around but this time of year always makes me smile.

they are just some of life's best dressed little creatures.

i hope to keep adding to my butterfly collection little by little.
