family tree

my sister-in-law informed me she would love to add a family tree to my niece mae's nursery. she asked if i would do calligraphy on it as well! i always love an excuse to work on my skills as i am not the best when it comes to practicing. after discussing what she had in mind and looking around online we decided we thought a fan style would be fun. luckily i procrastinated a little more on this project and came across an even better option that was featured in the november issue of martha stewart living.

it is called the giving tree family tree and the template for the artwork done by new york artist melinda beck is available to download from martha's website.

i can't wait to get started on this and add a bit of our family roots to mae's walls.

because it's lovely

are these calligraphy invitations not so fantastic?! to the red ink, especially on the envelopes... i love you. and as for you, red ribbon, you're not so bad yourself!

sometimes there are moments when i wish i could get married over and over (to my hubs of course) so that i could use everything i love. like these.

honestly, red can be so lovely.
