i'm hunting for one of these.

an upholstered bench or loveseat to be used as a banquette.

this orange leather one from house beautiful is by far my fave. and sensible too! oh, you spilled your mostaccioli on my banquette? no problemo, friend. it wipes clean :)

i might even be looking for one in a similar color. my dining area is connected in an 'L' shape to my living room and the whole thing was painted ben moore's polo blue (daaark navy) upon moving in. i am looking for something that will make a statement, and i think that'll do... especially with my round oak pedestal table (scored at a garage sale? yep).

but there are so many options: bench. sofa. arms. armless. smaller than the diameter of the table. same size. larger.

here are some more photos i'm mulling over. i'm on the hunt. hopefully i can share a purchase before long, but that means i have to actually find one i love and can afford ;)

tooo big for my space but i'm loving the tufting and pillows for sure. from

more tufting... and armless. from apartment therapy.

bench style with cushion. from casa bella project.

very sassy legs. from coastal living.

from domino.

and domino again. love the look of a banquette with a round table more and more.

more martha.

unknown.

do any of you have banquettes? do your conversations linger? do ya love it?

  2. We have a kitchen banquette. I love it. When we are entertaining and the boys are hogging the living room, it's a great and fun alternative for the girls to cozy up in the kitchen.
