i was just telling an engaged friend, who was asking advice on everyday dishes, how much i love my frances palmer pearl collection. the dishes are classic with the added feel of each one being hand made, and with the various plate and bowl options you can get a unique look to fit your personality.
when i got married a couple of years ago there were not as many wonderful colors as there are now. recently i was at global table in soho sorting through the hundreds of fabulous bowls, plates, vases, and serving pieces they have there when i stumbled upon the robins egg blue color that frances now offers.
i am thinking i would like to mix some of that color in with the cream that i have. each of her colors has such a special warmth to it.
frances palmer is based in weston, ct. and offers both custom works, which she throws by hand in her studio one at a time for private clients, and the pearl collection, a line cast from her handmade molds by century-old buffalo pottery. the pearl collection is dishwasher safe and can go into the microwave or oven with no problem.

it is wonderful to see how frances’ work has really taken off over the last two years with many features in all of the shelter magazines, and she was just mentioned in this article by kevin sharkey in the nytimes. several stores in new york carry her pearl collection including bergdorfs, global table, and michael c. fina. and on of my all time favorites stores in kc, george
terbovich (a later post), has her pottery and also offers registries. it is also available for sale on her website.
now to just complete my collection.
xoxo
elle.
